A simple, wholesome grazing board for two that’s perfect for date nights, quiet evenings, or a solo dinner. No cooking required, just 15 minutes to assemble a balanced board with cheese, cured meats, fresh fruit, nuts, and sweet accents.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz Aged Cheddar (sharp, crumbly)
  • 4 oz Brie (creamy, soft)
  • 4 oz Goat Cheese (tangy, fresh)
  • 4 oz Prosciutto (thinly sliced)
  • 4 oz Salami (Genoa, peppery)
  • 1 cup Red Grapes (seedless, halved)
  • 1 Apple (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith, sliced thin)
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
  • 1/4 cup Almonds (roasted, salted)
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts (raw or toasted)
  • 1/2 cup Crackers (whole-grain or seed-based)
  • 2 tbsp Fig Jam (or apricot preserves)
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 oz Dark Chocolate (70% cacao, broken into squares)
  • Optional: Olives (kalamata or castelvetrano)
  • Optional: Pickled Vegetables (cornichons or pickled onions)
  • Optional: Fresh Herbs (rosemary or thyme sprigs for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Cheese (5 minutes): Take cheeses out of fridge 15-20 minutes before serving. Slice aged cheddar into thin wedges or cubes. Cut brie into 1-inch slices (leave rind on). Place goat cheese in a small bowl or on board as a whole log; crumble some for visual interest.
  2. Prep the Meats (3 minutes): Lay prosciutto slices flat, fold each in half, then roll loosely into a small rose or ribbon shape. Do the same with salami—fold each slice in half, then roll into a small cylinder. Arrange in small piles or clusters.
  3. Prep the Produce (5 minutes): Wash and dry grapes, berries, and apple. Slice apple into thin wedges (toss with lemon juice to prevent browning). Halve grapes if large. Leave berries whole. Set aside in small piles.
  4. Toast the Nuts (optional, 3 minutes): Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add nuts and toast for 2-3 minutes, shaking frequently, until fragrant. Let cool before adding to board.
  5. Assemble the Board (5 minutes): Start with largest items: place bowls of jam and honey on board. Add cheese wedges, spacing evenly. Add meats in small piles. Fill gaps with fruit, nuts, and crackers. Tuck dark chocolate squares into empty corners. Drizzle honey over goat cheese or brie. Garnish with fresh herb sprigs if desired.
  6. Final Check (1 minute): Step back and check balance. Add extra crackers or berries if needed. Make it abundant and inviting.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave space between items. Keep wet and dry ingredients separate to avoid sogginess. Prep cheese and meat the night before for quicker assembly. For a dairy-free version, swap cheese for marinated artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and cashew-based cheese. For gluten-free, use rice crackers or seed crackers.
