A quick and delicious 30-minute meal featuring tender, flaky salmon and crispy roasted broccoli, all coated in a sticky, savory honey garlic glaze. Perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon filets (about 6 ounces each), skin on or off
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium if desired)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (for thickening, optional)
  • Sesame seeds, toasted (for garnish)
  • Green onions, sliced thinly (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the middle of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and dry broccoli florets thoroughly. Toss with 1 tablespoon olive oil, a pinch of salt, and black pepper. Spread on one side of the baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Pat salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and rub gently.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil (if using). Set aside about 2 tablespoons for brushing later.
  5. Place salmon filets on the other side of the baking sheet, skin-side down if using skin-on. Pour the main portion of the sauce over the salmon, coating evenly.
  6. Roast for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily and registers 125-130°F on an instant-read thermometer, and broccoli is tender with crispy edges.
  7. About 2 minutes before salmon is done, brush each filet with the reserved sauce. Return to oven to finish cooking.
  8. Optional: Switch oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes for extra caramelization. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Let salmon rest on the pan for 2-3 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and red pepper flakes. Serve immediately with roasted broccoli.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best crust. Add garlic partway through cooking to prevent burning. For a thicker glaze, use cornstarch slurry. Watch broiler closely to avoid burning honey.
