A quick and healthy sheet pan dinner featuring tender salmon fillets glazed with a sticky honey garlic sauce, paired with crisp-tender roasted asparagus. Perfect for busy weeknights and packed with flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz / 170 g each), skin-on or skinless depending on preference
  • 3 tablespoons honey (preferably raw or local honey)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free option)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 lb / 450 g), trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Trim the asparagus by snapping off the woody ends. Rinse and pat dry.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, and lemon juice until smooth and glossy.
  4. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet, spaced evenly. Brush half of the honey garlic glaze over the tops of the salmon. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Arrange the asparagus around the salmon in a single layer. Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus, then season with salt and pepper. Toss lightly to coat evenly.
  6. Brush the remaining glaze over the asparagus, distributing the garlic bits.
  7. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and asparagus is tender but still crisp with lightly caramelized tips.
  8. Optional: Broil for the last 1-2 minutes to create a slightly crisp top on the salmon and deepen the glaze color, watching closely to avoid burning.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Trim asparagus well to remove woody ends for best texture. Dry salmon fillets before glazing to ensure proper caramelization. Brush glaze thinly and reserve some to brush halfway through cooking to keep glaze sticky without burning. Watch asparagus tips closely during baking to avoid overcooking. For convection ovens, reduce temperature by 25°F (15°C). Optional broil step adds caramelization but watch carefully to prevent burning.
