A quick and fun Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough to look like mummies, perfect for parties and kid-friendly gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot dogs (beef, pork, chicken, or vegetarian)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (about 8 ounces / 227 grams)
  • Optional: thin slices of cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Black sesame seeds or mini chocolate chips for eyes
  • Mustard or ketchup for dipping or decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Press seams together to form one sheet, then cut into thin strips about 1/4 inch (6 mm) wide.
  3. Prepare the hot dogs by slicing in half if desired. Optionally place a thin slice of cheese on each hot dog.
  4. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips diagonally, leaving gaps to create a mummy look. Overlap slightly but do not wrap tightly.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs seam side down on the baking sheet.
  6. Press two black sesame seeds or mini chocolate chips into the dough near the ‘head’ for eyes. Optionally dab mustard or ketchup around the eyes with a toothpick.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Keep dough chilled for easier handling. Wrap dough strips loosely to allow puffing. Use parchment paper to prevent sticking. Watch oven closely to avoid over-browning. Customize eyes with black sesame seeds, chocolate chips, olives, or mustard/ketchup dots. Reheat leftovers in oven to maintain crispness.
