These easy candy corn popcorn balls are a festive, no-bake Halloween treat made with just four simple ingredients. They come together in about 15 minutes and have a perfect chewy-crunchy texture that kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 bag (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • Optional: pinch of salt, orange food coloring, salted peanuts, melted white or dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn and remove any unpopped kernels. Spread it out in a large mixing bowl and let it come to room temperature.
  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Pour the hot marshmallow mixture over the popcorn. Add the candy corn and gently fold everything together until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  4. Generously grease your hands with butter or cooking spray.
  5. While the mixture is still warm, scoop up handfuls and shape into balls about the size of a baseball. Place each ball on parchment or wax paper.
  6. Let the popcorn balls cool at room temperature for 15-20 minutes until set but still slightly soft.

Notes

Don’t overheat the marshmallows or they will become hard. Work quickly once the marshmallow mixture is combined with the popcorn. Keep your hands greased to prevent sticking. For best texture, add candy corn right before serving if making ahead.
