These air fryer meatball sliders are quick, easy, and perfect for game day. Made with frozen meatballs, marinara, provolone, and slider buns, they come together in under 20 minutes for a crowd-pleasing snack that holds up beautifully.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 frozen meatballs (about 1 pound, homestyle or Italian-style)
  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian sweet rolls recommended)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (such as Rao’s)
  • 6 slices provolone cheese, cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place frozen meatballs in air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 375°F for 6-8 minutes, shaking halfway through, until heated through and starting to brown.
  3. While meatballs cook, mix melted butter with garlic powder and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
  4. Warm marinara sauce in microwave for 30-45 seconds or in a small saucepan.
  5. Split slider buns in half. Place bottom halves on a clean surface. Place two meatballs on each bottom bun. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of warm marinara over meatballs. Top with a half-slice of provolone cheese. Place top bun on each slider.
  6. Brush tops of buns with garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano on each.
  7. Place sliders in air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 4-5 minutes until cheese is melted and buns are golden.
  8. Let sliders rest for 2 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid soggy buns. If cheese isn’t melting fast enough, tent with foil for the last minute. For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the marinara or use pepper jack cheese. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
