A quick and easy sweet-and-salty Halloween popcorn mix made with candy corn, pretzels, and white chocolate. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or a cozy fall treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels, or 1 large bag of plain microwave popcorn)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers (or white chocolate chips)
  • 1/2 cup roasted, salted peanuts (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn. If using kernels, pop them using an air popper or on the stovetop with a little oil. You want about 8 cups of popped popcorn. Spread it out on a baking sheet to cool slightly and let any steam escape. If using microwave popcorn, let it cool for a few minutes so it’s not hot when you add the chocolate.
  2. Pick out any unpopped kernels.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the popcorn, candy corn, pretzels, and peanuts (if using). Give it a gentle toss with your hands to distribute everything evenly.
  4. Place the white chocolate wafers or chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval. It usually takes about 1-2 minutes total. Be careful not to overheat—white chocolate burns easily and gets grainy. Stop when it’s mostly melted and stir until smooth.
  5. Stir the cinnamon and salt into the melted white chocolate.
  6. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold everything together, making sure the chocolate coats as much of the mix as possible. Don’t overmix.
  7. Turn the coated mixture out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread it into an even layer. If you want clusters, press some of the mixture together gently with your hands. Let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes, or until the white chocolate is fully set. If you’re in a hurry, pop it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Once the chocolate is set, break the mixture into clusters.

Notes

Don’t overheat the white chocolate. Use room-temperature popcorn. Work quickly once the chocolate is melted. Use your hands for the final toss to ensure even coating. Add extra candy corn on top after spreading for a prettier presentation. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Do not refrigerate. To re-crisp, spread on a baking sheet and bake at 300°F for 5 minutes.
