These spooky deviled eggs feature a creamy, tangy filling topped with a sriracha spider web design. They’re budget-friendly, quick to make, and perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (for web)
  • Optional: black sesame seeds or poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a single layer in a large pot. Cover with cold water by about an inch. Add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, then remove from heat, cover, and let sit for exactly 12 minutes.
  2. Prepare an ice bath in a large bowl. Transfer eggs to the ice bath using a slotted spoon and let sit for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Gently crack eggs all over and peel starting from the wider end. Run under cold water to help remove shell bits.
  4. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Remove yolks and place in a mixing bowl. Arrange whites on a serving platter.
  5. Add mayonnaise, yellow mustard, white vinegar, paprika, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mash with a fork until smooth.
  6. Spoon yolk mixture into a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off about 1/2 inch from the corner. Pipe filling into each egg white half, mounding slightly.
  7. In a small bowl, stir together sriracha and 1 tablespoon mayonnaise. Transfer to a small piping bag or squeeze bottle with a fine tip.
  8. Pipe a small dot of sriracha mixture in the center of each deviled egg. Pipe concentric circles around the center dot. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward through all circles to create a spider web effect.
  9. Optional: Place two black sesame seeds or poppy seeds on each side of the center dot to resemble spider legs.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Can be made up to 24 hours ahead.

Notes

Use eggs that are at least a week old for easier peeling. Add a teaspoon of baking soda to the boiling water to help loosen shells. Practice the spider web design on a plate first. Keep deviled eggs cold; do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
