Cute and delicious mummy-shaped pigs in a blanket made with cocktail wieners and crescent roll dough, served with a sweet and tangy honey mustard dip. Perfect for Halloween parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (12 oz) cocktail wieners or mini smoked sausages (about 24 pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 24 tiny dots of yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • 1/2 cup yellow mustard (for dip)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated dough, press the seams together gently. Cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide (about 12 strips).
  3. Take one cocktail wiener and place it at one end of a dough strip. Wrap the strip around the sausage, overlapping slightly, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes (about 1/4 inch of sausage visible). Don’t wrap too tightly.
  4. Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each.
  5. Melt the butter and brush the tops of each mummy with the melted butter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for about 2 minutes. Use a toothpick to dab a tiny dot of yellow mustard on each exposed sausage end for the eyes.
  8. While mummies are baking, prepare the dip: In a small bowl, whisk together yellow mustard, honey, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and salt. Taste and adjust as needed.
  9. Serve warm with the honey mustard dip.

Notes

Don’t over-wrap the sausages; leave a gap for the eyes. Cut strips evenly for uniform appearance. Watch baking time to avoid burning. Let cool slightly before adding mustard eyes. Double the batch for parties as they go fast. Dip can be made ahead and refrigerated.
