A quick and easy frozen margarita slushie blending sweet watermelon and strawberries with tequila, lime, and a spicy Tajín rim—perfect for summer refreshment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups seedless watermelon, chopped and frozen
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and frozen
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) silver tequila
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons agave syrup or simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water or sparkling water
  • 1/4 cup Tajín seasoning
  • 1 lime wedge (for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Chop the watermelon into cubes and hull the strawberries. Freeze both for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Rim the Glass: Pour Tajín seasoning onto a small plate. Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip it into the Tajín, twisting to coat evenly. Set aside to dry.
  3. Blend the Slushie: In a blender, combine frozen watermelon, frozen strawberries, silver tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Add cold or sparkling water.
  4. Pulse and Blend: Blend on low speed, then high, for 1-2 minutes until smooth and slushy. Adjust thickness by adding water or more frozen fruit as needed.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Add more lime juice or syrup if desired and blend briefly again.
  6. Serve Immediately: Pour into prepared glasses and garnish with a lime wedge or strawberry slice.

Notes

Use frozen fruit to avoid watery drinks. Adjust sweetness based on fruit ripeness. Tajín rim adds a spicy, tangy contrast. For non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and add more lime juice or sparkling water. Blend in short bursts to avoid overheating blender.
