A simple, refreshing frozen watermelon slushie made with fresh watermelon, ice, and lime juice, perfect for cooling down on hot summer days without any added sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) seedless watermelon, cubed
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups (240-360ml) ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lime juice
  • Mint leaves (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) cold water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cube about 4 cups (600g) of seedless watermelon into small chunks.
  2. Place the watermelon cubes and 1 to 1 ½ cups (240-360ml) of ice cubes into your blender jar.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon (15ml) of freshly squeezed lime juice.
  4. Blend on low speed, then gradually increase to high. Blend for about 30 to 45 seconds until smooth and icy. If too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons (15-30ml) of cold water.
  5. Taste the slushie and add a tiny splash of natural sweetener like honey or agave if desired (optional).
  6. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use ripe, fragrant watermelon with vibrant red color. Pre-freezing watermelon cubes for 1-2 hours can reduce ice needed and intensify flavor. Avoid over-blending to prevent watery texture. If blender struggles, pulse or crush ice separately first. Variations include adding berries, herbs, or making it an adult cocktail with vodka or tequila.
