A quick and easy patriotic-themed charcuterie board featuring a colorful mix of cheeses, meats, fresh fruits, and crunchy elements, perfect for July 4th gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Whipped goat cheese
  • Sharp white cheddar, sliced
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto or salami
  • Mini pepperoni or summer sausage slices
  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries, washed and dried
  • Red grapes (seedless)
  • Assorted crackers (multigrain and water crackers)
  • Salted mixed nuts (almonds and cashews)
  • Mini pretzels or breadsticks
  • Honey or fig jam
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
  • Olives (kalamata or green, pitted)

Instructions

  1. Rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes thoroughly. Hull and halve the strawberries, remove grapes from stems, and pat all dry with paper towels.
  2. Cut the white cheddar into thin slices or small cubes. Crumble the blue cheese if using. Arrange the prosciutto or salami into loose folds or rolls.
  3. Place small bowls filled with honey or fig jam and olives at different spots on the board. Then, place the cheeses evenly spaced out.
  4. Cluster strawberries and blueberries near the cheeses. Add the folded meats next to the cheeses and fruits, balancing the reds, whites, and blues visually.
  5. Fill in gaps with crackers, nuts, pretzels, and breadsticks. Tuck fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs here and there for aroma and color.
  6. Fill any empty spots with extra berries, small cheese cubes, or sprinkle a few more nuts. Serve immediately or cover loosely and refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Let cheeses sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before slicing for better texture and flavor. Avoid soggy crackers by placing them last or serving separately. Keep softer cheeses cool if outdoors in heat. Prep fruits and cheeses a day ahead to save time.
