A refreshing, easy-to-make nonalcoholic summer punch with fresh citrus juices, fruit, and sparkling water, perfect for baby showers and BBQs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice (about 45 medium oranges, freshly squeezed)
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 45 lemons, freshly squeezed)
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 67 limes, freshly squeezed)
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned unsweetened)
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced (fresh or frozen)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves (lightly bruised)
  • 12 cups sparkling water or club soda (chilled)
  • Optional garnishes: thin citrus slices (orange, lemon, lime), extra mint sprigs, edible flowers

Instructions

  1. Roll the oranges, lemons, and limes on the counter to loosen the juice. Juice them into separate bowls or measuring cups, removing seeds as you go.
  2. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the fresh citrus juices with the maple syrup or honey. Stir well until the sweetener dissolves completely.
  3. Slice the strawberries and cut pineapple into bite-sized chunks if not already done.
  4. Lightly bruise the mint leaves with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their oils without pulverizing.
  5. Add the prepared fruit and mint leaves into the punch base. Stir gently to mix the flavors but avoid crushing the fruit.
  6. Refrigerate the punch for at least 30 minutes before serving to let flavors meld.
  7. Right before serving, pour in the chilled sparkling water or club soda for fizz.
  8. Garnish with thin slices of citrus and extra mint sprigs. Serve over ice if desired.

Notes

Use fresh citrus juice for best flavor; bottled juice can be used in a pinch. Add sparkling water last to keep fizz. Avoid over-bruising mint to prevent bitterness. Serve punch over ice in individual glasses to avoid dilution. Punch base can be made ahead and stored refrigerated up to 2 days without sparkling water. Add sparkling water and fruit just before serving. Leftover punch with sparkling water best consumed within 24 hours.
