A creamy, guilt-free vegan chocolate dip paired with fresh strawberries, perfect for snacking or entertaining. Made with silken tofu, avocado, and natural sweeteners for a luscious yet healthy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz silken tofu (Mori-Nu brand recommended)
  • 1 medium ripe avocado, mashed
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (about 25 g)
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries (about 300 g), washed and hulled
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts (almonds or pistachios), shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Rinse 1 pint (about 300 g) of fresh strawberries under cold water and gently pat dry. Hull them by removing the green tops. Set aside in a bowl for serving. Optionally slice some for easier dipping.
  2. Cut 1 medium ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until smooth.
  3. In a high-speed blender or food processor, add 12 oz (340 g) silken tofu, 1/4 cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder, 3 tablespoons maple syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the mashed avocado to the chocolate dip base and gently fold it in with a spatula until fully incorporated.
  5. Taste the dip and add more maple syrup if desired, blending briefly again if needed.
  6. Optional: Chill the dip in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes for a thicker texture.
  7. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Arrange fresh strawberries nearby for dipping. Sprinkle optional chopped nuts or shredded coconut on top.

Notes

[‘Use firm, small-curd silken tofu for best texture; soft tofu may make dip watery.’, ‘Blend long enough to remove graininess but avoid heating the mixture.’, ‘Use ripe but firm avocado for creamy texture without lumps.’, ‘Adjust sweetness with maple syrup, agave, or coconut sugar to taste.’, ‘Chill dip for thicker texture; stir in plant-based milk if too thick after refrigeration.’, ‘Frozen strawberries can be used if thawed and patted dry.’, ‘For nut-free version, skip nuts and use seeds like pumpkin or sunflower.’]
