everything bagel salmon air fryer recipe - featured image

A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring a crispy everything bagel seasoning crust that delivers bold flavor and a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 oz (170 g) each, preferably wild-caught
  • Everything bagel seasoning (includes sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, onion flakes, and salt)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove moisture.
  2. Lightly coat each fillet with about 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of olive or avocado oil.
  3. Sprinkle 2 to 3 teaspoons (4 to 6 g) of everything bagel seasoning evenly over the top of each fillet. Add salt and pepper if desired, but remember the seasoning already contains salt. Press gently to help it adhere.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Place the fillets skin-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, checking around 8 minutes. The salmon should flake easily and the crust should be golden and crispy. Internal temperature should reach 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare or 140°F (60°C) for more well done.
  7. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes outside the air fryer to allow juices to redistribute.
  8. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges squeezed over the top.

Notes

Patting the salmon dry is essential for a crispy crust. Use skin-on fillets for better texture and moisture retention. If your air fryer basket sticks, use parchment paper with holes or lightly spray with oil. Check salmon early to avoid overcooking. Rest salmon after cooking for juicy results.
