A creamy, cheesy dip loaded with crispy bacon and fresh green onions, perfect for parties and easy to prepare in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (227 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
  • Β½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 cup (115 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 4 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • Β½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Β½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place 6 slices of thick-cut bacon in a cold skillet. Turn heat to medium and cook, flipping occasionally, until crisp and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Once cooled, crumble into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Rinse and thinly slice 4 green onion stalks, including the green tops. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine 8 oz softened cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, and Β½ cup mayonnaise. Use a hand mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. If cream cheese isn’t soft, microwave in short bursts of 10 seconds to soften without melting.
  4. Fold in 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, Β½ teaspoon garlic powder, Β½ teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, salt to taste (start with ΒΌ teaspoon), and freshly ground black pepper. Mix gently until evenly distributed.
  5. Add crumbled bacon and sliced green onions to the dip base. Stir gently to combine without overmixing.
  6. Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let flavors meld and dip firm up.
  7. Scoop into serving bowl and garnish with extra green onions and bacon crumbs. Serve with crackers, fresh veggies, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese to avoid lumps. Cook bacon low and slow for best crispiness. Chill dip at least 1 hour for best flavor and texture. Can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for lighter dip. For vegetarian version, omit bacon and add smoked paprika or liquid smoke.
