A whimsical and colorful layered supershake with creamy texture and vibrant fruit or natural food coloring layers, perfect for parties and joyful treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk (480 ml)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml), chilled
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g), adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Natural food coloring or fruit purees: strawberry puree or red food coloring, orange juice or orange food coloring, mango puree or yellow food coloring, spinach juice or green food coloring, blueberry…
  • Fresh fruits for garnish (optional), such as berries or thin slices of kiwi
  • Whipped cream for topping (store-bought or homemade)
  • Rainbow sprinkles or edible glitter for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine 2 cups whole milk, 1 cup chilled heavy cream, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Blend on medium speed for about 1 minute until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.
  2. Divide the creamy base evenly into six small bowls or cups (about 1/2 cup or 120 ml each).
  3. Add your chosen natural food coloring or fruit puree to each bowl (e.g., strawberry puree to the first, orange juice to the second, etc.). Stir gently but thoroughly without frothing.
  4. Using a spoon or small ladle, carefully pour the first colored layer into clear cups, filling about 1/6 of the cup. Chill in the fridge for 5 minutes to set slightly.
  5. Repeat layering with each color, pouring gently on top of the previous layer. Chill each layer for 5 minutes before adding the next to keep layers distinct.
  6. Once all layers are assembled, chill the supershake cups in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld and the shake firm up.
  7. Top each cup with a generous swirl of whipped cream and sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles or edible glitter. Add fresh berries or small candies for extra flair if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with a colorful straw or festive spoon. Keep chilled if not serving right away.

Notes

Chill each layer for 5 minutes before adding the next to keep layers distinct. Use full-fat dairy for best creamy texture. For dairy-free, substitute with full-fat coconut or almond milk and coconut whipped cream. If layers start to mix, chill longer between pours or pour over the back of a spoon. Strain fruit purees to remove seeds for smooth texture.
